Cohen & Company Capital Markets Adds Private Credit Advisory Unit
CCM launches a new private credit advisory practice, bringing in two senior hires to lead and expand its capabilities.
Cohen & Company Capital Markets (CCM), a division of Cohen & Company Securities, LLC, has launched a dedicated private credit advisory practice, the firm announced Oct. 5, 2026. The move signals a strategic push to broaden CCM's advisory offerings in a segment of the financial market that has drawn sustained institutional interest.
Daniel Sheriff joins CCM as Managing Director and Head of Private Credit, taking the lead role in building out the new practice. Christian Watson has also been brought on as Director, adding further senior capacity to the group as it gets underway.

The expansion reflects growing demand for specialized guidance in private credit markets, where institutional and corporate borrowers increasingly seek alternatives to traditional bank financing. CCM's new unit positions the firm to advise clients navigating deal structuring, capital sourcing, and lender relationships within that space.
Firm leadership did not disclose a target deal volume or revenue projections for the new practice at the time of the announcement. CCM operates as a registered broker-dealer and is a member of FINRA and SIPC.
