Kraken Parent Payward Links With Singapore Gulf Bank for Round-the-Clock Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net to offer institutional clients in Asia and the Gulf instant digital asset settlement at any hour.
Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has formed a partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank to enable continuous, real-time settlement for institutional digital asset traders operating across Asia and the Gulf region. The integration centers on SGB Net, the bank's proprietary clearing network, which allows transactions to clear instantly regardless of the time of day or week.
The agreement addresses a longstanding friction point in institutional crypto markets: the inability to settle trades outside traditional banking hours. By connecting to SGB Net, Payward's institutional clients can now move funds and complete transactions at any hour, a capability that aligns crypto settlement more closely with the around-the-clock nature of digital asset trading itself.

As part of the broader arrangement, Singapore Gulf Bank will onboard Kraken Prime — Payward's institutional brokerage arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That step is designed to deepen the pool of assets available to institutional counterparties using the bank's network, potentially tightening spreads and improving execution quality for large-volume traders in those regions.
The partnership reflects a wider push by both traditional financial institutions and crypto-native firms to build infrastructure that meets the operational demands of professional market participants. Real-time settlement reduces counterparty risk and frees up capital that would otherwise be tied up during clearing delays, making it a competitive priority as institutional adoption of digital assets accelerates in Asia and the Middle East.
